Cobb's 2023-24 school year was a success both on and off the sporting field, as the cumulative GPA for all 12,791 student-athletes was 3.60.

Additionally, the District recognized 180 student-athletes as "Scholar Athletes." These were graduating seniors with a grade-point average of 3.5 or better on a 4.0 scale who competed in at least two varsity sports or cheerleading during their final year in school.

"We are very fortunate to have true student-athletes in the Cobb School District," said Cobb's Director of Athletics Don Baker. "They are students first, just as our coaches are teachers first. Achieving a 3.6 cumulative GPA across all athletes shows we are really putting a focus on the classroom."

Mr. Baker also mentioned how this focus helps Cobb student-athletes succeed well beyond high school. "Part of the reason why colleges recruit out of Cobb is because they know our athletes can handle their business in the classroom. That's a testament to our teachers, administrators, and obviously, our students and families to make this a priority."

Speaking of college recruitments, 257 student-athletes in the Class of 2024 signed National Letters of Intent (NLI) to play their respective sports at the collegiate level. These graduates will represent Cobb at 149 different colleges and universities in 27 states and Washington, D.C. This is the highest number of student-athletes signing NLIs since 2020.

Well done, Cobb student-athletes! We can't wait to see what you'll accomplish at the next level and how the Class of 2025 will respond to your remarkable achievements in the classroom and on the field.
