This discussion centers on mental health concerns and how various pressures, online and offline, impact students' lives. Stress can impact learning and academic performance, and mental health—like physical health—must be cared for regularly.

Emily Lawery, a wellness specialist for Cobb Schools, and Joy Doss, a partner at a local law firm and VP of the Cobb Schools Foundation, join host David Owen.

One program in particular, "Sources of Strength (SOS)," trains students and staff to identify and develop protective factors like supportive relationships and stress-relieving activities. Peer leaders help spread positive messages of hope and resilience through fun activities and school events.

One such event is "Miles for Mental Health," where individuals and businesses can participate by walking or running throughout October. The funds raised will support the SOS program in Cobb County schools.
