“I am absolutely thrilled to return to the McClure Middle School community! The sense of belonging, collaboration, and shared commitment to student success is truly inspiring,” Principal Shannon declared. “During my time away, I carried with me the values and spirit of McClure, and I am honored to now return as Principal. Question: What does “student success” mean to you?
Answer: “To me, student success means more than just academic achievement—it’s about helping every student grow into a confident, capable, and compassionate individual. It’s about creating an environment where students feel safe, supported, and inspired to reach their full potential. Success looks different for every child, and my goal is to ensure each student is given the tools they need to thrive.”
Question: Under your leadership, how will you build on the school’s successes?
Answer: “McClure has a strong foundation built on enthusiasm, excellence, ingenuity, and encouragement. My goal is to honor those traditions while continuing to grow and innovate. I will focus on building strong relationships, supporting our incredible staff, and fostering a collaborative culture where everyone feels empowered to contribute. By listening, learning, and leading with intention, I hope to build on what’s already great and help take McClure to even greater heights.”
Question: What role do you see parents and the community playing in supporting student success?
Answer: “Parents and the community are essential partners in student success. When schools and families work together, students benefit from a consistent, supportive network that reinforces learning and growth. I believe in open communication and creating opportunities for families to be actively involved in school life. A strong school-community partnership helps create a sense of belonging and shared purpose that lifts everyone.”
Question: What do you like most about being an educator?
Answer: “What I love most about being an educator is the opportunity to make a lasting impact. Every day brings a new chance to inspire, support, and celebrate the growth of students and staff. I find great joy in helping others discover their strengths and watching them succeed. Education is a calling, and I feel incredibly fortunate to do this work alongside passionate, dedicated professionals.”
Question: Outside of school, where might parents and students find you?
Answer: “When I’m not at school, you’ll most likely find me out and about with my favorite people—my husband and our two kids. We’re an adventurous bunch who love soaking up the outdoors, whether we’re boating on Lake Allatoona, hiking one of Georgia’s beautiful trails, or singing along to live music at local events. I’m a big believer in laughter and making memories, so if you see me out and about, be sure to say hi!”
