Once again, the Cobb County School District’s Communications Department has earned national recognition for excellence.

The department’s recent accolades from the National School Public Relations Association (NSPRA) cap off a year of awards from state, national, and international organizations. 

Adding to past awards, NSPRA recognized Cobb with four Excellence Awards, four Merit Awards, and five Honorable Mentions. The national awards honor the best work in school communication. 

As a team of Cobb parents and Cobb graduates, the Communications Department is dedicated to keeping Cobb families updated on the information they need so families can help their student(s) succeed. That includes award-winning podcasts and videos, highlighting outstanding staff like a hero bus driver and veteran educators, and explaining steps the District is taking, like the Georgia’s BEST program, to ensure every student has access to a world-class education. 

At the state level, the Georgia School Public Relations Association (GSPRA) honored Cobb with three Gold Awards, including one Best in Category, five Silver Awards, and one Bronze Award. GSPRA recognizes those who demonstrate exceptional communications skills by producing outstanding publications, photography, and electronic media. 

Internationally, the department’s efforts were celebrated with a host of MarCom Awards, which honor excellence in marketing and communication. Cobb’s team earned four Platinum Awards, seven Gold Awards, and five Honorable Mentions, showcasing their skills on a global scale. Other MarCom Platinum award winners include Amazon, American Heart Association, Bloomberg, Fidelity Investments, Fifth Third Bank, Lowe’s, Northside Hospital, PepsiCo, State Farm Insurance, and Syracuse University.
