July 31, 2026 — In Cobb Schools, you will often hear Superintendent Chris Ragsdale, teachers, and other staff describe the District as “the best place to teach, lead, and learn.”

Cobb staff members are not the only ones recognizing the District’s excellence. When Niche published its 2026 Best Public Schools in Georgia list, Cobb was well represented throughout it. 

According to NICHE, the top 25 ranking is calculated by looking at academics and state assessments, culture and diversity, athletics, and feedback from families on overall experience. 

On the list of Georgia’s best public high schools, Walton High School ranked No. 9, while Lassiter High School ranked No. 24.

Among Georgia’s top public middle schools, Dickerson Middle School ranked No. 15, Simpson Middle School ranked No. 18, and Dodgen Middle School ranked No. 25.

Timber Ridge Elementary School also earned the No. 24 spot among Georgia’s top public elementary schools.

As more than 105,000 students prepare to return to Cobb’s 112 schools on August 3, families can explore the latest resources for the new school year.
