January 6, 2026 — In a special-called meeting on January 6, 2026, the Cobb County School District (CCSD) Board of Education held its annual vote to elect a new Board Chair and Vice-Chair.
The Board voted Randy Scamihorn, Post 1, to the position of Board Chair for 2026. David Chastain, Post 4, will serve as Vice-Chair for 2026.
In addition to voting on the Board Chair and Vice-Chair, the Board approved the 2026 Board meeting calendar, which will be available here. The first board meeting for 2026 is scheduled for January 22.
