March 17, 2026 — The Cobb County School District (CCSD) welcomed a record-breaking 1,894 attendees at its 2026 job fair, marking the highest turnout in the event’s history and signaling strong interest in joining one of Georgia’s leading school systems.
At a time when school districts nationwide face teacher shortages, the overwhelming attendance reflects the district's continued investment in its employees and its reputation as a premier destination for educators and professionals.
In the weeks leading up to the event, the district experienced a 54% increase in application activity, with 4,993 candidates starting new applications or updating existing ones—further demonstrating the growing interest in career opportunities with Cobb Schools. All CCSD K-12 schools were represented at the job fair, which was hosted at Truist Park, giving candidates the opportunity to connect directly with school leaders and hiring administrators across the district.

Recruitment efforts remain focused on high-need areas, including special education, math, science, and foreign languages. One of the highlights of this year’s event was the early access opportunity for Cobb Schools student teachers. Student teachers were invited to attend the fair 30 minutes early, allowing for more meaningful conversations with hiring administrators. Identified by district-issued T-shirts, these future educators benefited from dedicated time with school leaders, while administrators engaged with candidates who had firsthand experience in the district.
Beyond recruitment, Cobb Schools is committed to supporting educators throughout their careers. All new teachers participate in the district’s New Teacher Academy, a four-day immersive experience designed to build connections, provide hands-on training in district systems and technology, and connect teachers with subject area specialists before the school year begins. Additionally, each new teacher is paired with a trained mentor at their school, ensuring ongoing support and guidance throughout their first year and beyond.
“We are thrilled to see record-breaking attendance at this year’s job fair,” said Nancy Gospodareck, Supervisor of Recruiting and Retention. “The enthusiasm from both candidates and our school leaders speaks volumes about the strength of our schools, our culture, and our commitment to excellence.
“As a Forbes-recognized Best Place to Work, we offer competitive pay, outstanding benefits, and innovative programs like Georgia’s BEST, which provides advanced degrees for our staff at no cost. We are deeply committed to supporting our employees at every stage of their careers—from onboarding through leadership development—which leads to strong retention and, ultimately, positive outcomes for our students. We are proud to attract and retain talented educators who are passionate about making a difference.”
Cobb Schools continues to recruit year-round through partnerships with colleges, universities, and technical schools, as well as community events. The district’s next job fair, focused on classified positions, is scheduled for December 2026. To look at the current openings, click here.
