Come See Les Misérables Performance at Pope High School!

April 21, 2026 — It is not every day a Broadway hit with worldwide acclaim is performed at the high school level, but Pope High School students are about to show just how well they’ve risen to the challenge.

After three successful performances, Les Misérables will be staged three more times at Pope’s Performing Arts Center, giving audiences another chance to see the production.

When: 🎭

  • Friday, April 24, 7 p.m.
  • Saturday, April 25, 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.

"This is the best performance I've ever seen from here residing in this district for 12 years," said longtime Pope theatre supporter Bronson Lee.

In addition to the rarity of a high school theater producing Les Misérables, five students from nearby feeder schools, Hightower Trail and Dodgen middle schools, will also take on roles in the production.

"On the artistic side, I find the themes of forgiveness and mercy vs justice compelling. The musical explores seeking the balance between the two," said Pope's Theatre Director Rachel Jones.
