Question: What does “student success” mean to you?
Answer: "Student success means every child growing and shining in their own unique way. Success looks different for each student because every child brings individual strengths, interests, and talents to the classroom. To me, success is about helping students recognize their potential, set high expectations for themselves, and make meaningful progress over time. It’s not about perfection—it’s about continuous growth, perseverance, and giving their best effort. Just as important is celebrating those milestones along the way so students build confidence, take pride in their accomplishments, and remain motivated to keep growing."
Question: Under your leadership, how will you build on Addison’s successes?
Answer: "Under my leadership, I will build on Addison’s strong foundation by staying grounded in its vision and mission. I will maintain high expectations and continue to enhance rigorous, engaging learning experiences. By working collaboratively with staff, families, the PTA, and the foundation, we will share responsibility for student achievement. I will also seek opportunities for student leadership and foster a positive, student-centered culture where every child feels known, encouraged, and inspired to reach their full potential."
Question: What role do you see parents and the community playing in supporting student success?
Answer: "Parents and community partners are vital to a thriving school. Student success is strongest when home and school work together with a shared purpose and clear communication. While teachers and staff bring expertise and dedication each day, families and community partners enhance that work through valuable perspectives, resources, and real-world connections. I look forward to working alongside Addison’s active PTA, foundation, and community partners to strengthen these connections and expand opportunities for students. When we are aligned in our efforts and vision, the impact on students is significant and lasting."
Question: What do you like most about being an educator and principal?
Answer: "What I love most about being an educator and leader is the opportunity to create the first school experiences for children—helping them discover who they are and what they are capable of in an environment where they feel valued and supported. What makes this work especially meaningful to me is extending that impact by supporting teachers and partnering with families to develop kind, capable young people. Being part of that shared journey—celebrating successes and navigating challenges together—is what I value most."
Question: Outside of school, where might parents and students find you?
Answer: "Outside of school, you’ll most often find me spending time with my family. I have two grown sons and a sweet granddaughter who brings so much joy to our family. I love being outdoors—whether it’s enjoying a meal outside or taking a walk at Kennesaw Mountain. I also have a passion for exploring new places, so you may even spot me at Hartsfield International Airport as I head off on my next adventure."
