September 28, 2026 - The Cobb County School District is proving once again that the hard work that happens every day in the classroom is preparing students for their next chapter in education and life.
With a graduation rate of 90.9% for the class of 2026, this marks the first time ever that Cobb Schools has had a graduation rate higher than 90%. That percentage eclipses the state average of 88.5%, a new all-time high for Georgia.
This achievement comes just a year after Cobb set its previous all-time high with an 89.2% graduation rate from the class of 2025. It's a reflection of district leadership, teachers, staff, students, and families always striving to improve, even when achieving what hasn't been done before.
Harrison (98.9%), Lassiter (98.5%), and Pope (98.4%) have the highest graduation rates in Cobb Schools for 2026.
13 Cobb High Schools surpassed a 90% graduation rate in 2026, which tops last year's 10 schools with the same achievement.
This record-breaking class wouldn't be possible without schools showing year-over-year growth, which allows more students to earn diplomas and be set up for success.
"A record-breaking graduation rate for the whole county, and moving from good to great at Kell, Sprayberry, and Lassiter in particular, makes all of the work worth it. Couldn’t be happier for families to see the benefits, which range from higher college admission rates, scholarships, and property values," said Vice Board Chair David Chastain.
As a district, Cobb's overall graduation rate improved 1.7%, but many schools saw even larger gains.
Campbell (+5.7%), Osborne (+4.2%), Pebblebrook (+4.1%), Sprayberry (+3.0%), Kennesaw Mountain (+2.0%), Kell (+1.7%), Lassiter (+1.2%), and Harrison (+1.1%) all improved over a full percentage point from the year before.
While this growth showcases the focused work happening every day in high schools across Cobb, the school with the biggest leap in graduation rate is Cobb Horizon, which proudly boasts an 8.2% increase in students earning their diplomas.
The 90.9% graduation rate includes all students who have been enrolled in Cobb Schools for at least one day. For students who stay in Cobb Schools for all four years of high school, the overall graduation rate is 99.2% across all high schools.
“A 99% graduation rate for students who spend all four years in Cobb speaks for itself. Come to Cobb, stay in Cobb, graduate on time, and be ready for life," said Board Chair Randy Scamihorn.
This achievement comes just after each of the 16 traditional Cobb High Schools was recognized as a 2026 AP Honor School.
