Senior Spotlight: Campbell's Glorious Adeleye

May 11, 2026 — When Glorious Adeleye and her family came to the United States from Nigeria, they chose Cobb County in part for the quality of its school system and its path to a bright future.
Now a senior at Campbell High School, Glorious has done just that during her four years.
"I had an accent and was different, so for me, I had to kind of adapt to a new environment and a new world. But being in Cobb County made it really easy, actually," said Glorious.
While serving as a translator for her family, Glorious has excelled in the classroom, as seen in her 4.2 GPA.
She has also been invited to serve as a keynote speaker this summer at the annual AVID National Conference.
The Campbell senior's plans to pursue a nursing degree were inspired by her aunt’s passing from breast cancer in 2019 in Nigeria.
Glorious saw the care and compassion with which her aunt was treated and vowed to one day provide that same care for others.
As she prepares to walk across the stage and become a Cobb Schools graduate, Glorious reflects on her unique path and what it means to her.

"Being a Cobb County grad to me is not just all about the title. For me, it's a legacy. It's me making a way out. It's me letting my siblings know, like, hey, you can do it too. If I could do it, you could definitely do it too. It's me telling my family back home that I have come here for us. Not for me, but for us. It's me letting my father know that I have listened to your advice. It's me letting my mom know that your training is you've trained me in the right way. It's me letting my teachers know. Like the late-night homework has made a way for me. It's me letting my friends know that the advice and the counseling have worked for me. That's what being a Cobb County graduate has made me. It's made me realize the importance of the bond in a family," Glorious shared.
After graduation, Glorious will attend the University of Alabama at Birmingham to pursue a degree in nursing and a career helping others.
