Senior Spotlight: Cobb Horizon's Muhammad Khan

May 15, 2026 — At Cobb Horizon High School, students take their classes online, which provides them with the flexibility needed for each individual set of circumstances.

For Muhammad Khan, it was as simple as wanting more time for family and work while approaching his schoolwork and learning in a way that made the most sense for him. He's now a Cobb Schools graduate, and he looks back on his career in learning fondly.

In 2013, Muhammad and his family moved from Pakistan to Cobb County, where he attended Cobb Schools from kindergarten through his senior year.

"It's just been amazing. And the fun fact was, when I was in my country, I did not like going to school. I would hide, and I would cry that I don't want to go to school. But here, I loved every part of it," said Muhammad.

The Cobb Horizon senior said that when he first moved to Cobb County, he could speak only two words in English. Now, he's one of the top-performing graduates in his class.

"It's with honor and pride that I can go around saying, 'I graduated from Cobb County.' It's not like I went somewhere else and then came back. I went through from kindergarten through my senior year being all in Cobb County, and I'm about to go to a great school. Wherever I go, I can tell them I came from Cobb County," said Muhammad.

Muhammad will attend Georgia State University, where he plans to get a degree in finance.
