Class of 2025-Important Dates
February 28 | Last day to request commencement tickets | Once tickets are allocated, graduates and parents or guardians will be notified the number of tickets granted via the Student Portal. |
March 4 | Cap and Gown Pickup | Students will pick up in the cafeteria during lunch. |
March 25 | Buc Pass Holders Senior Movie Morning at NCG | Senior Buc Pass holders will ride the bus to NCG to view a movie. |
March 29 | Prom | Zoo Atlanta 8:00 PM - 11:00 PM |
April 14 - 18 | Senior Dress Up Week | Details TBA |
May 2 | Community Service Forms Due Turn in to Mrs. Hord in the Front Office | Community Service hours are NOT required to graduate. Those who participated in community service directly related to Allatoona or one of our feeder schools are eligible for a medal. Forms should have already been filled out and signed prior to turning in. 150 Hrs.=Gold 100 Hrs.=Silver 50 Hrs.=Bronze |
May 2 | College acceptance letters and scholarship award letters due | Turn in a copy to the counseling office prior to this date. |
May 7 | Senior Letters Due via Mail or Dropped Off with Ms. Ridenour in the Counseling Suite | Students will receive their letters at Starlight Senior Night event on May 14. |
May 9 | Yearbook Distribution (all grades) | Details TBA |
May 13 | Senior Exams 1st-2nd blocks review 3rd-4th block exams | Seniors are expected to follow the regular bell schedule and take finals in 3rd and 4th block classes. This is a full school day! |
May 14 | Senior Exams 1st-2nd block exams Mandatory Senior meeting in auditorium immediately following 2nd block. | No 3rd and 4th block this day. ½ day only Students are expected to leave campus immediately following the senior meeting. |
May 14 | Starlight Senior Night on the Green | Buccaneer Stadium This event is ONLY for AHS seniors! -Buc Pass free. Everyone else $25 |

May 21 | Mandatory Senior Check-Out and Mandatory Graduation Practice | 9:00 AM - As you enter theatre, all senior fines, fees, and required documents must be resolved. Checkout must occur for students to receive graduation tickets, cords, etc. Park behind home stands at stadium |
May 22 | Mandatory Graduation Practice Stadium | 9:00 AM - park behind home stands at stadium. Tickets will be distributed after practice. |
May 23 | Graduation | Students arrive at 7:00 - 7:30 AM. Must be in proper graduation attire to participate. Late students will not be allowed to walk. |
CLASS OF 2025-IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Commencement ~ Friday, May 23, 9 a.m.
- Cap & Gown-must be the newest version (2021-present)
- Graduation Requirements
- Pass all required classes for graduation by Friday, May 16.
- Meet all financial obligations, including payment for lost textbooks, parking fines, etc. and be “cleared” before the student will be allowed to participate in graduation practice. Students must be “cleared” at senior checkout.
- Payments for financial obligations must be made in cash, cashier’s check, or money order. No personal checks will be accepted.
- Graduation Practice Requirements
- ALL Practices are mandatory and must be a priority. You must plan to be present for the duration of each practice. Adjust your schedule well in advance to attend on time.
- Students are expected to follow directions explained during practices or they will be excluded from the ceremony. Diplomas will be held for students who are unwilling to comply.
- Cobb County School District policies and Allatoona High School policies, rules and expectations are in effect at all commencement practices.
- Appropriate attire is expected at practice. Students may bring sunscreen, sunglasses and hats for practice in the stadium.
- Food and drinks are not permitted in the stadium during practice.
- Ticket Requests
- Notifications will occur in the Cobb Student Portal.
- Tickets will be distributed after practice on May 22nd..
- Student will receive weather appropriate tickets at that time.
- Ceremony Behavior
- All policies, rules and expectations of the school and Cobb County School System will be enforced. Students must remain properly dressed throughout the ceremony. Possession of disruptive objects may lead to removal from the ceremony. Disruptive students will be removed and not allowed to participate.
- Graduates should not bring valuables to the ceremony. No one is available to monitor your valuables.
- Students must arrive on time, follow directions, and cooperate fully during the ceremony.
- Ceremony Attire
- Ladies: Wear a solid color dress that is shorter than the gown, or dark dress slacks and a solid blouse. Wear black dress shoes of reasonable height (ballet flats or wedges are recommended). (No vans, Converse, or athletic shoes of any type are allowed.)
- Bring your shoes to practice on Thursday to make sure that the heels don’t sink into the turf. No oversized earrings. Flowers and large pieces of jewelry are not appropriate with the commencement gowns.
- Men: Wear a button-up white, collared shirt, a tie, black solid slacks (no jeans), black dress shoes (no athletic shoes), and black socks.
- Ladies: Wear a solid color dress that is shorter than the gown, or dark dress slacks and a solid blouse. Wear black dress shoes of reasonable height (ballet flats or wedges are recommended). (No vans, Converse, or athletic shoes of any type are allowed.)
- Only authorized honor cords are to be worn during the graduation ceremony. Students will not be allowed to walk wearing anything not on the list below.
- Community service medal presented by Allatoona High School
- Only academic cords may be worn at graduation: Honor cords for GPA (3.5 & up) and for any National Honor Society currently at Allatoona High School
- CTAE pathway completers will receive a diploma seal and a Cord.
- HELM, Key Club, CTAE, and Dual Enrollment and other cords are not to be worn during graduation.
- There will be a clear bag policy for guests attending the commencement ceremony.
- Guests will NOT be permitted to enter with strollers, signs, posters, and balloons. Courtesy to other guests is expected and these items block the view of guests nearby.
