Dickerson is an Advanced Placement Certified School.
We currently offer Advanced Content Courses in Math, Science, Language Arts, and Social Studies. In addition, Advanced Content Reading is offered for 6th and 7th graders, and for 8th graders, we offer HS Spanish I. Screening for advanced content classes is completed automatically prior to the start of each school year. Students new to Dickerson from outside of Georgia are screened as they enter the school. Placement in the advanced content classes is based on nationally normed standardized tests such as the Iowa Test. Students in the advanced content classes must maintain an 80 or above average in each advanced content class to remain in the program.
The electronic translation service is hosted by Google Translate. The quality of the translation will vary in some of the languages offered by Google. Google Translate is a free service and currently offers translation in over 50 languages, although an impressive number, this does not capture all languages or dialects. The basic translation’s goal is to capture the general intention of the original English material.
