Student Leadership Academy Purpose: To build leadership skills in students, provide opportunities to make effective change in our school and community, and to empower students to make an IMPACT through ACTION What: Dickerson’s student leadership academy fosters student leadership through lessons and activities designed to build skills and knowledge. Through the program students choose a SERVE project to manage and execute. In 2024, students planned, launched, and managed schoolwide recycling projects, including a classroom recycling program that will continue in 2025. In 2023, student leaders improved Dickerson’s campus by repainting the faded bus lane numbers. To complete these projects students created project plans, managed a timeline, met with school leadership, designed flyers, worked with teammates, took on leadership roles and more. The best part: the projects are developed and driven by the students, so the opportunities are limitless! Who: All Students interested in developing leadership skills are invited to apply.
