Mrs. Barbara Jones is our Gifted or Target Teacher. She offers services for our identified gifted students as well as our talent development lessons in classrooms. 

In addition, several of our Hollydale Teachers hold Gifted Endorsements at each grade level and therefore conduct their classroom as if all students were gifted identified. These high expectations and engagement strategies keep learning fun, relevant, and challenging! 

We offer Advanced Content classes in Reading, Language Arts, and Math for 4th and 5th grade to students who qualify. A rubric is used to qualify students based on CoGat, ITBS, and EOG scores; teacher input is also used to guide placement in these programs. Students receive instruction on grade level and above grade level standards within one school year. Example: A student qualifies to be in the Reading AC class in 4th grade. He learns all the 4th grade reading standards and 1/2 of 5th grade. As long as he does well, he continues to 5th grade AC in Reading and learns 1/2 5th grade and 1/2 of 6th grade Reading standards.
