You know it's going to be a fun day when you spot Paul Milliken and his crew on your campus early in the morning. The FOX High 5 Sports team was recently at Campbell High School to crown the Spartans football team as the first "Team of the Week" of the 2024 season and award them their very own High 5 hand trophy.

With an unblemished 3-0 record so far this season, the Spartans are making a statement under second-year head coach Jeff Phillips. They have scored convincing victories over Chapel Hill (27-0), South Forsyth (48-7), and Etowah (33-7). This weekend, they face their first region opponent with an important home contest against McEachern.

As always, Paul Milliken started the presentation event, which was broadcast on FOX5, with a pep rally that included the school's juniors and seniors, cheerleaders, and marching band.

"This is a big deal," said Campbell Athletic Director James Thigpen, "because it helps our continuous journey to positively shape culture for our students and staff. These things are also great for injecting school spirit, as they help to build morale and academic fervor. Having High 5 Sports visit Campbell was a key indicator that we are taking steps in the right direction and look to continue in our efforts to put our students first while we carve out our path."

"It is refreshing to see our students develop esteem and confidence in what they are doing. We look to build high character through our mission and vision, and this further solidifies that our efforts are taking effect towards the positive. It is also a testament to the support we are receiving as we continue the work," concluded AD Thigpen about his Spartan football team being recognized as Team of the Week.

Great job, Spartans and Coach Phillips! Good luck on Friday, and keep working hard and looking forward!
