In their last two games of the regular season, the Kell Longhorn offensive line controlled the line of scrimmage in a major way. In important wins over Centennial and Cambridge, the Longhorn offense produced more than 1000 total yards thanks to dominance from the front five.

To recognize the extraordinary achievement, Georgia High School Football Daily’s Ted Langford visited the school to give them the Offensive Line of the Week award. Left tackle David Torres, left guard Chase Lewandowski, center David Ornelas, right guard Vincent Consolino, right tackle Brodey Bedwell, guard/tackle Kayden Jacobo, guard Keenan Thompson, and center/guard Jared Miller with tight ends Brayden Rouse, Kason Fox, and Bryce Shelton were called up and congratulated at a brief ceremony at Kell. The offensive line coaches are Brendan Tyner and Chris Pack.

"There are over 400 high school teams in Georgia, so there were a lot of other lines being considered," Mr. Langford told the students assembled in the practice gymnasium. "But at the end of the day, we made the decision that what you accomplished against a really good Cambridge team was what set you apart as the Offensive Line of the Week."

The Longhorns handed the Cambridge Bears their first loss of the season, 28-14. The front line opened holes for Cobb's Athlete of the Week Moonie Gipson to rush for 246 yards and four touchdowns. The victory improved Kell to 6-4 and moved the Longhorns to #2 in Region 6-4A. The Longhorns have averaged more than 30 points a game this season, largely due to the strong performance of their offensive line.

In a 61-49 home victory over Centennial the previous week, the Longhorns tallied 706 total yards (422 rushing, 284 passing) to secure a playoff spot. The Longhorns will now host Hiram on November 15 in the first round of the GHSA AAAA postseason.
