A Fun Approach to Health and Wellness
Health and wellness are crucial to student success and impact school families in many ways. That’s why Griffin Middle School is committed to showing students and families that making healthy choices can be delicious and fun.
Thanks to community partnerships, Health-a-Palooza remained a free event so more families could participate. The event's popularity allowed organizers to expand the budget, bringing in even more vendors and attractions.
This year’s expanded selection of vendors included community sports organizations, summer camp representatives, and even the Georgia Aquarium. Returning favorites, such as therapy dogs and first responders, added to the array of informative and interactive options.

Fueling Fitness, Fun, and Wellness!
Visitors enjoyed a variety of healthy food samples, engaging games, and activities designed to entertain all age groups.
Students had a blast training with a local gym group, leaping for fitness in a bouncy house, and racing down a large inflatable slide. Friendly competition was in full swing as students challenged firefighters in push-up contests.
Vendor booths offered interactive experiences, including blood pressure checks and other wellness screenings. Attendees even got to test out the blender bike, pedaling their way to delicious and nutritious smoothies. A lively DJ kept the energy high, inspiring attendees to dance and celebrate health together.
Beyond fun and games, Health-a-Palooza offered meaningful learning experiences. Students wore intoxication simulation goggles to gain a firsthand understanding of impaired vision, reinforcing the dangers of drinking and driving.
Serving up Smiles for a Good Cause
Griffin Middle School staff took their commitment to the community to the next level—literally! To raise funds for charity, they volunteered to be pied in the face, bringing laughter and excitement while supporting a good cause.
Looking Ahead
Health-a-Palooza aims to bring new experiences and valuable health education to the Griffin Middle School community each year. With strong support from local organizations and enthusiastic participation from students and families, the event will help students and their families learn how to pursue healthy lifestyles.
Until the next Health-a-Palooza, keep moving and keep thriving!
