Athlete of the Week April 25, 2025

Cobb Schools’ Athlete of the Week (AOW) program is a weekly recognition of male and female student-athletes performing at high levels in their sport, classroom, and school communities. The program is made possible by support from BSN Sports.

This week’s winners are senior track and field athletes from Campbell and Harrison. Peyton Butler runs for the Spartans, and Natalie Harris runs and jumps for the Hoyas.

Peyton Butler, Track & Field, Campbell

A two-sport athlete who served as a team captain in both sports, Peyton is a standout student at Campbell in athletics and the classroom. He is a Triple Crown Region Champ in the 100, 200, and 400 meters, and he also anchored the 4 x 4 relay team that placed 3rd at the region meet. Peyton holds a 3.4 GPA and is considering options at Tennessee Tech and the University of Connecticut to further his academic and athletic careers. He brings humor to any situation he is in, including a grueling workout or practice. He is a natural leader, and his teammates and classmates describe him as "fun and energetic."

"Peyton Butler is a pivotal figure for the Campbell boys' track team," said his coach, Jeffery Phillips. "He has been instrumental in setting the standard for performance and leadership. His dependability and willingness to step up, such as participating in a relay to help both himself and his best friend advance to state sectionals, highlight his selflessness and commitment to the team’s success."

"He is a true embodiment of what it means to be an Athlete of the Week. His ability to balance humor with hard work creates a unique dynamic that inspires others to push through challenges. Campbell is fortunate to have a student-athlete like Peyton, who not only excels on the football field and the track but also leaves a lasting impact on the school’s culture," concluded Coach Phillips proudly.

Natalie Harris, Track & Field, Harrison

At the recent regional meet, Natalie took first in the long jump and 100m hurdles, and helped the Lady Hoya 4 x 200 and 4 x 100 teams qualify for sectionals. She is also a great student with a GPA of more than 3.8. She has been running track all four years of high school and also plays flag football. Natalie is known for being willing to do anything to help her classmates, teammates, or community.

"Natalie is a leader within the team, and her achievements help raise the level of work and competition for all of the other girls on the team," said her coach, Jason Scott. "Her focus at practice is second to none, and she is also an exceptional student in the classroom. Natalie is a top-notch person!"

Harrison Athletic Director Wes Ellis agrees. "Natalie is an incredible young lady and a huge asset to our building," he said. "She has an infectious spirit and always brings a positive outlook to Harrison High School and her peers. She is the embodiment of what a student-athlete should be as a person of high character, high academic standing, and a great athlete. She represents us extremely well in the building and in the community."
