The Chairman's Brief: Next School Year and Ed-SPLOST VI

In this week's Chairman's Brief, Cobb Schools' Board Chairman Randy Scamihorn answers questions and concerns about what the next school year may look like, as well as the District's ongoing PPE response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
He also discusses Ed-SPLOST VI, which will be on the ballot in the November election. Ed-SPLOST is a one-penny sales tax on anything bought in Cobb County and stands for Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax and is used for the sole purpose of educational needs.
Ed-SPLOST was first approved by voters in 1998 and made it possible for Cobb Schools to become one of the nation's very best districts. Ed-SPLOST VI will allow this one-penny tax to continue making every aspect of Cobb Schools better through 2028.
