Temporary Changes to Weekly Calendar for All Cobb Students

To give all interested Cobb educators the chance to receive COVID-19 vaccinations, the Instructional Support Days for the next two weeks will move from Wednesday, April 14 and 21 to Friday, April 16 and 23. The Instructional Support Day will return to its regular schedule on Wednesday, April 28th.
Cobb educators will be able to receive their second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine during drive-through vaccine events, which will be held 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on two separate days at Jim R. Miller Park:
- Friday, April 16
- Friday, April 23
Staff will be required to present District badges when they arrive at the vaccine site. The choice to take the COVID-19 vaccination will remain just that, a choice.
Cobb nurses, who have completed the Department of Public Health’s COVID-19 vaccine administration training, will support public health personnel at the vaccine drive-throughs. Additional Cobb Schools staff will be at the events to assist the Cobb educators who sign up to be vaccinated.
“We are honored as healthcare professionals in schools to partner with Cobb & Douglas Public Health to add another layer of protection and safety for our teachers and school district staff against COVID-19. Our Nurses have provided ongoing education and support to our school community, and we are hopeful that widespread vaccinations will help to bring an end to this pandemic that has brought so many challenges to our lives over the last year,” said Melanie Bales, Cobb Schools Nursing Supervisor.
More information about the COVID-19 vaccine is available on the websites of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Georgia Department of Public Health, and Cobb & Douglas Public Health.
