ATLANTA — Kell, McEachern and Walton represented Cobb County inside Mercedes-Benz Stadium in the Corky Kell Classic on Saturday.

The day opened off with a battle between to Cobb teams when McEachern beat Kell 53-20.

East Carolina commit Kaleb Webb led the way for the Indians with four touchdowns. Three of them came via passes from quarterback Bryce Archie, and the other came when Webb returned a kickoff to increase McEachern’s lead to 33-14.

Makari Bodiford added two running touchdowns of his own. Peja Womack and Shamar Hall joined in on the touchdown barrage with one each.

Davion Hampton threw for two Kell touchdowns. The first was thrown to Tracy Conner for 42 yards, and the second closed the game when the Indians were out of reach.

TJ Felix broke free for a long touchdown run for the Longhorns, and a successful two-point conversion made up the remainder of Kell’s scoring output.

In the third game of the day, Walton got the best of Lowndes County 34-28 in overtime.

Sutton Smith ran in the game-winning touchdown in overtime for Walton. It was Smith’s third touchdown of the afternoon.

The Raiders started off hot with back-to-back touchdown possessions. Smith opened the game’s scoring with a running touchdown, and then, Zak Rozsman connected with Mustafa Hefner for a touchdown on Walton’s second drive of the game.

While it looked like the Raiders were going to run away with the game early, Lowndes County’s star quarterback, Jacurri Brown, brought the Vikings back in the game quickly. The Miami commit ran for a touchdown towards the end of the first half to bring them within a touchdown. Then to open the second half, he found Chase Belcher for a touchdown to tie the game.

With the momentum firmly with Lowndes County, Walton opened the fourth quarter with another Sutton Smith touchdown to give them a 21-14 lead.

Zak Rozsman ran for a touchdown to further the Raiders’ lead.

Needing a heroic effort to score two touchdowns in under two minutes, Jacurri Brown put on his cape and led the Vikings down the fields. He hit Chase Belcher for another touchdown to bring the game within a possession. After securing an onside kick, Brown found Khris Thomas in the end zone with three seconds left on the clock to tie the game and send it to overtime.

All of these Cobb schools hit the field again on Friday. Kell looks to bounce back on the road against Hillgrove. McEachern has a daunting task on its hands as they go to Grayson to take on a talented, highly-touted Rams team looking to atone for last year's season-opening loss. Walton is set to take on Pope on the road.
