Cobb Schools BOE Welcomes 2 New Board Members, Votes to Approve New Leadership for 2023
In a special called meeting on January 5, the Cobb County School District (CCSD) Board of Education held the annual vote to elect a new Board Chair and Vice-Chair.
The Board voted Brad Wheeler, Post 7, to the position of Board Chair for 2023. David Banks, Post 5, will continue to serve as Vice-Chair in 2022.
“It is an honor to serve as the Board Chair of a District that has earned a reputation for delivering a world-class education thanks to Cobb’s dedicated school staff and supportive families and community. I am looking forward to continuing that legacy as we work together to keep schools, schools, focus on academic excellence, and ensure every Cobb student succeeds,” said Board Chair Wheeler.
In addition to voting on the Board Chair and Vice-Chair, the Board approved the Board meeting calendar for 2023, which will be available here.
Before voting on new leadership, two new Board members joined Board Member David Chastain to take the oath of office. After being sworn in, Mr. Chastain will continue to represent Post 4.
Becky Sayler will represent Cobb Schools Post 2. Nichelle Davis will serve as the representative for Cobb Schools Post 6.
