As summer winds down and the beginning of the 2023-24 school year approaches, local Publix stores will once again be showing their enthusiastic support. The Tools for Back to School program ensures that all Cobb Schools students have the school supplies they need to succeed. Publix shoppers will be given the option to donate to the program at checkout from July 12-23.

“We are very grateful for this partnership with Publix," said Felicia Wagner, Executive Director for the Cobb Schools Foundation. "Patrons of the local stores can know that their support at the register is needed and helping students in their own community."

“The final donation from Publix will be distributed throughout the District to serve students in need, as well as teachers who are doing all they can to create the best learning experience in their classrooms,” Ms. Wagner continued.

Last year, Tools for Back to School raised nearly $175K overall and provided supplies like pencils, paper, crayons, notebooks, and art supplies to Cobb Schools students. Donations for back to school supplies can also be given directly to the Cobb Schools Foundation here.

Tools for Back to School runs at all Publix stores in Cobb County from July 12 to July 23. In addition to helping students receive the school supplies they need, all those who donate will be gifted a free reusable grocery bag as a thank you.
