Earlier in the school year, students at Public School and Highland Public School participated in what Principal Deborah Wrack of Hickson PS described as a new and very exciting initiative run by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Agriculture and Food. The fresh from the farm program was created by the Province to promote and sell Ontario-raised food while also raising funds for schools. 

“Only nine school boards in Ontario have been selected for this pilot project,” Principal Wrack wrote in a message to Hickson PS parents in October.
