During Writing, the students worked with the four different types of sentences. They took the book that they were reading - or a fiction book from my library - and tried to identify the four different types of sentences in the book. They spent twenty minutes reading the books and writing the sentences they found in the book that made the specifications. Some students really excelled at this and were able to find 5 sentences for each sentence type. 

Other students found it difficult to transition from reading to writing and apply their knowledge of the different types of sentences. In order to give those students more practice, those students who do not have 5 sentences for each category must read for 20 minutes tonight and find at least one more sentence for each type of sentence.
