Mission
The Cobb County School District Department of School Counseling empowers and supports school counseling programs to foster the academic, college/career, and personal development of students. We provide professional learning to advocate for innovative practices in school counseling where every student is empowered to thrive and achieve their highest potential. We work with stakeholders to nurture school counseling programs that are effective, collaborative, and contribute to their school goals and community.
Vision
Our vision is that every student receives school counseling services through a comprehensive school counseling program that fosters the academic, college/career, and personal development of students. Our goal is to support school counselors by serving as a valuable resource that elevates school counseling programs to implement comprehensive models. We are committed to promoting comprehensive school counseling programming at every Cobb County school that addresses the diverse needs of every student.
Purpose
The Department of School Counseling supports the implementation of comprehensive school counseling programs based on data that impact student growth in academics, personal skills and college and career readiness. Our department supports school counselors through collaboration and consultation by serving as a valuable resource to elevate school counseling programs to implement comprehensive model programs and promote best practices.
