Calling all runners, walkers, and supporters of mental health! Gather your friends, family, and neighbors to participate in the Miles for Mental Health Virtual 5K!

What's a virtual 5K, you ask? Great question. It's a 5K (3.1 miles) that you can do wherever you like, however you like, by yourself or with others, during the month of October. It's an opportunity to get outside (or inside on the treadmill) and run, walk, or jog your way to better physical health while supporting and representing Sources of Strength.

But what's Sources of Strength, you may also ask? Another great question. SOS is an international program hosted in many Cobb schools that empowers students to improve their mental health through peer leadership and positive messaging. SOS promotes supportive peer relationships to create healthy norms and culture, ultimately preventing suicide, violence, bullying, and substance misuse.

October is Bullying Prevention Month, which makes it a great time to support SOS with a Virtual 5K. Thanks to the cooler air temperature of fall, it's also a great time to be outside (or on the treadmill). Sign up before September 1 to guarantee delivery of your Miles for Mental Health t-shirt to wear while completing your 5K.
