Cobb Schools Welcome New Board Member, Votes on Leadership for 2025

In a special called meeting on January 7, 2025, the Cobb County School District (CCSD) Board of Education welcomed four recently elected members, including one new member, and elected new leadership for the seven-member Board. 

Incumbent board members Randy Scamihorn (Post 1), Tre’ Hutchins (Post 3), and Brad Wheeler (Post 7) were sworn in to continue their service. John Cristadoro, representing Post 5, joined the Board as a newly elected member. 

Following the swearing-in ceremony, the Board elected David Chastain (Post 4) as Board Chair and John Cristadoro (Post 5) as Board Vice-Chair for 2025. The Board also approved the meeting calendar for 2025, with the first official meetings scheduled for January 16. 

"The new year brings new opportunities, but our priorities remain the same. We are committed to educational excellence, safeguarding our schools, and being responsible stewards of Cobb tax dollars,” said Board Chair David Chastain.
