Athletes of the Week Nov. 20, 2025

November 20, 2025 — For the first time, this week's Athlete of the Week (AOW) honors go to a brother-and-sister pair. Each week, Cobb Schools, with the support of BSN Sports, celebrates student-athletes who inspire and excel in their sports, academics, and communities. This week, it's a family honor.

Riley and Paige Comstock are elite long-distance runners for the Harrison Hoya Cross Country team. Riley is a junior, and Paige is a sophomore and newly-crowned Class 6A state champ! In addition, both of these high-performing siblings won AOW in their freshman season: Riley in 2023 and Paige in 2024.

In the recent 6A Finals held at the University of West Georgia in Carrollton, Paige and Riley led their respective teams across the finish line: Paige first overall, and Riley fifth overall in the Boys race. Paige's championship pace of 18:47.84 was 11 seconds faster than that of her second-place teammate, freshman Norah Hickerson. The Lady Hoyas placed first, second, fourth, 24th, and 38th to secure the 6A Runner-Up team trophy with 69 total points.

Riley's fifth-place finish led the Hoyas in the Boys race, with his teammates finishing 20th, 29th, 31st, and 51st for a total score of 127 and third place in the team standings. This is Riley's third straight top-10 finish in the ultra-competitive top classification in the state.

"They are our top runners, so they obviously score very well for us. However, more importantly, Paige and Riley also possess tremendous leadership qualities, which encourage their teammates to follow their lead," said their proud coach, Jason Scott. "And both are very strong students academically and have received the Harrison Scholar Athlete award."

Besides being outstanding runners and students, Paige and Riley both participate in the District Event Services program, which is based at Harrison. Among other tasks, Event Services produces high-profile, high-quality events for a fraction of the cost of contracting external providers, while providing unique opportunities for the students who work in the program.

"Paige and Riley are tremendous athletes and student citizens," said Harrison Athletic Director Wes Ellis. "They do a wonderful job representing our program and school in the community and embody what you want in fierce competitors. We are blessed to have them at Harrison and are excited to continue to watch them progress as runners and athletes."

Congratulations, Paige and Riley! You are great examples of what it takes to excel in sports and academics in Cobb! Well done supporting this dynamic brother/sister duo, Harrison!
