A Welcome Message from the Cobb County School District Board of Education
After a relaxing and enjoyable summer, Cobb Schools is prepared and excited for another school year. Today is the first day back, and students, teachers, and support staff are filling the halls of Cobb's more than 100 school buildings around the county.
As Board Chairman David Chastain says in the video, Cobb's goal is to provide a safe, warm, and welcoming environment that not is not only engaging but academically challenging. The Board has been meeting regularly over the summer, making important decisions to support and achieve this goal.
Thanks to the county's overwhelming vote in favor of Ed-SPLOST VI last November, the District will be able to build, repair, and upgrade facilities for many years to come. An important part of Ed-SPLOST VI are the new security measures District-wide for all buildings. In addition, the Board recently approved the appointment of an Assistant Superintendent for School Safety Operations.
There is much to look forward to in 2022-23, and Cobb Schools' faculty and staff is excited for what's to come. All available information for the new school year can be found here. Thank you for helping to make Cobb Schools the best place to teach, lead, and learn!
