The Inside Scoop with Dr. Ryan Fuller

The Cobb County School District has been active in virtual learning for over two decades now. Beginning in 2001, the Cobb Virtual Academy (CVA) has been helping students earn credits and take classes that they need for graduation or to supplement dual-enrollment course work. Dr. Ryan Fuller has been with CVA for 15 of those years and is David Owen's guest on today's podcast episode.

Dr. Fuller is a Cobb native and a graduate of Cobb Schools. After earning his degrees from Georgia Tech, he taught science and helped develop the science magnet program at South Cobb High School and came to CVA in 2007.

CVA now regularly serves thousands of Cobb students, allowing them to take needed classes without having to be in a physical classroom. CVA is asynchronous in that students and teachers are not required to be online at the same time and can contact each other with questions and follow-ups as it fits both of their schedules.

CVA is flexible and adaptable and can be a great asset in helping students get needed credits that may not be available at their own school. CVA helps to "level the playing field" for all students regardless of what school they attend or their schedule.
