As the academic year draws to a close, the Cobb County School District is pleased to announce the valedictorians and salutatorians for the Class of 2024.
Exemplifying a school career of academic excellence, the average GPA for Cobb Schools valedictorians stands at 4.697. The highest GPA among the 17 high schools is an impressive 4.86. In fact, three valedictorians posted GPAs above 4.8, and nine more recorded final GPAs above 4.7.
This year’s class of salutatorians are close behind with an average GPA of 4.659. The highest recorded GPA for a Cobb salutatorian is 4.828. In addition to the two salutatorians with GPAs above 4.8, there are six Cobb salutatorians with GPAs above 4.7.
Many of Cobb’s valedictorians and salutatorians will continue the educational journey together as they attend the same university. Georgia Institute of Technology will be the new home of 8 Cobb valedictorians and 9 Cobb salutatorians. Cobb’s other valedictorians and salutatorians are attending prestigious universities across the country, including Johns Hopkins University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Howard University, University of Georgia, Cornell University, Tuskegee University, Yale University, and University of Pennsylvania, among others.
With plans to study biomedical engineering, biochemistry, aerospace engineering, mathematics, physics, industrial engineering, economics, nursing, and more, the future is bright for Cobb’s valedictorians and salutatorians.
