During the 2025-2026 and 2026-2027 school years, Bells Ferry Elementary School will be undergoing upgrades and building expansion that will necessitate the relocation of a portion of the student population to Chalker Elementary School.  Starting in August 2025, Bells Ferry 2nd and 3rd grade classes will be housed at Chalker while the remainder of Bells Ferry students will remain at the Bells Ferry campus.

The 2nd and 3rd grade students who are housed at Chalker will still be Bells Ferry students, and Bells Ferry teachers will still teach them. For students who ride the bus, our Transportation Department will continue to pick them up at their assigned stops and take them directly to the Chalker campus ensuring there is as little interruption to our students’ normal school day as possible. 

To assist parents with transportation, after-school activities, etc., Bells Ferry Kindergarten, 1st, 4th, and 5th grade siblings of those students who are relocated will be given the opportunity to apply for a transfer to be enrolled at Chalker.  

When the 2nd/3rd grade students subsequently move back to the Bells Ferry campus, they would only be eligible to continue to stay on the Chalker campus through an approved student transfer.

Transportation will be provided to 2nd and 3rd grade students and any approved K, 1, 4, or 5 siblings only during the two-year construction timeframe.  No transportation will be provided to transfer students beginning in the 2027-2028 school year.

The deadline to apply for a Bells Ferry Construction Transfer is March 28, 2025.
